home calendar news midweek walks cycling galleries archives contact home news news newsletters archives calendar contact cycling w2w galleries 11 gallery name 1 midweek walks news news sitemap home the walking club is a friendly group of ramblers who will make you feel very welcome. we are part of the boldon community association which is in new road, boldon, south tyneside, tyne and wear. the boac was established in 1979 and is one of the oldest walking clubs in the area. membership is varied both in ability and age. view our latest newsletter forthcoming events boac calendar on latrigg overlooking keswick - june 2016 the boac have a comprehensive programme of activities throughout the year including sunday walks each month, mid-week walks once a fortnight, week-end trips to various youth hostels and lodges and long distance rambling holidays involving a week away twice a year. on the monthly sunday walks members are transported to the start by coach from the community centre. walks are graded enabling members to choose a walk suitable to their individual ability - walk lengths are usually between 9 and 14 miles. usually there are three or four walks arranged which are led by experienced boac members. everybody is responsible for their own safety and being properly equipped. destinations vary and have included cumbria, northumberland, teesdale and both the yorkshire dales and moors. heading down to seathwaite after climbing glaramara. sunday walks need to be booked and paid for in advance, bookings being made at the community centre reception. the cost is £10 per person per walk. mid-week walks are held once a fortnight alternating between tuesday, wednesday and thursday. we meet at the community centre and use members' cars for transport, sharing the cost a full programme of cycle rides is organised each year, details can be found in the calendar. boldon outdoor activities club, new road, boldon, tyne and wear. interested? why not try walking with us? this will help you decide if you like us, and if being in a walking club is for you. a sunday walk can be booked at the community centre reception. although based in boldon, our membership comes from all areas of south tyneside, washington and sunderland as well as other areas of tyne and wear. chris and syd get to summit of whernside a sunday walk to allendale. in addition we hold social evenings during the year. see the 2018 events calendar for more details including programme of walking and social events. sign in | recent site activity | report abuse | print page | powered by google sites
